New Year, New Hair, New Program~

Yes, I'm back from the dead finally. I have some exciting things to talk about in this post. First of all, it's the new year, and I hope you all had a good holiday and stayed warm and cozy indoors. Over the holiday it was pretty mild where I live, but the last few weeks have been brutally cold. For the new year I decided I needed a change. A change in many things, including my lifestyle.

I didn't mention this, but I'm enrolled in a program now at Versailles Academy (a well known school of makeup arts, esthetics and hair). I'm taking the professional esthetician program there (a full time, 10 months program). So far it's been really good, and I can't wait to talk about my experiences and share with you what I've learned.

On top of starting this new program, I decided to chop off all of my hair. What was once below my chest is now just above my shoulders.

Right before getting my hair cut.
After the cut.

So what do you think? I was going for that Taylor Swift loose and messy wave look. I like it, and it takes a lot less time and effort to take care of it and style it.

Lastly, I've decided to make an effort in my diet. I want to eat healthier foods, or at least snack less on foods that are high in sugar, fat, and salt. I bought this magazine/book called the sugar detox diet. It helps you understand why we crave sugar, how we can train ourselves to crave it less, and what recipes can help us satisfy our sweet tooth's with healthy alternatives. I'm still working on this, but I'm definitely doing a lot better with the junk food thing than I have before.

Did you do anything drastic or make any changes / resolutions for the new year? Post them below. And if you have any healthy recipe ideas, feel free to share those with me too.  :p

Thanks for reading!
